- What is the general layout on this site compared to your old site
Our new site contains more than the old site and the layout is improved. We have a "homepage" where the overall site can be viewed under the tab called "Gallery", clicking on the words Sportz and Eventz Fotoz takes you to the "entry or index page" where you can watch our new slide show. These slide show photos will be updated regularly. At the bottom of the screen sits our "privacy policy", "licensing" and "terms of use" information. To the left on the gallery page you can find photo category information, website welcome information, recent news and some stats on photo numbers along with account creation options. The rest of the pages are self explanatory, have a good look around. Any questions you may have check our FAQ section first, the icon is at the the top right of the screen. If you are not able to find the answer you want click on the "contact" tab top of page right and send us a message.
- What happens to my account on the new web site, are the details all the same?
Your account has been securely transferred across to the new site and the details remain the same, you just need to log in using the icon top right of the screen. Log in is slightly different, now you will be asked to enter your email address (the one you used to register ) and then enter your password.
- What happens If I forget my password
You will find a message directly below the log in "If you have forgotten your password please click here" click at that spot and you will be emailed your password to the email address used for registering and during log in.
- Can I change my details without opening a new account
Yes your details are fully editable, simply log in then click on the account icon at the top of the page, your details will be uploaded and you will be able to make the changes you wish. Due to ongoing "challenges" with the previous web site in updating your account, we have seen a number of accounts that are duplicated. If you are not sure how many accounts you may have due to this previous situation, please contact us to reduce these back to one!
- Can I still place an order by phone, email or post an order to you
Yes see the about us page for contact details, we prefer that you use the web site where possible as this takes away any possibility of having your order misinterpreted or recorded incorrectly.
- Im not sure how to order using the new system
Below is the long version of how to place an order on our new web site. At various points along the way you will see reference to going to the faq page for a deeper explanation of points. the order system is straight forward and once you have used it once you probably wont need to read this again! Here we Go....
1 If you are already registered then log in before ordering, using the email address you used when first registering and the password you created at that time.(see faq page if you lost or forgot your password). From an order perspective registering means you only ever have to enter your personal details once.
2 If you are NOT registered and have created an account this will NOT prevent you from ordering photo products UNLESS you are paying by credit card when it is mandatory. It just means that each time you want to order photo products you will have to re enter your personal details.
3 Now you can surf the site looking for photos to purchase.. You can do this manually by selecting an event from the categories menu on the left of the page and then going to a meeting and or class of interest. OR you can use the search bar facility. Not all photos have extensive search phrases at this time. Just enter a phrase, ie king of levels, junior, streetstock etc, select the search type ie match all terms or match any terms, for example and click on the go button.
4 If you are registered you can create a new lightbox (see faq page for more detail on this), and add your photos to this for review prior to placing that order. Alternatively you can simply add them to your shopping cart as you go if you wish and remove them at any time prior to finalising your order.
5 You can add photos direct from the site or via your light box, (the process is pretty much the same), to the cart as follows..Click on the photo to bring up its second stage larger view, select a print or product for it from the drop down box below the image, add it to your cart using the "add selected to cart" button directly below the print and product selection choice. Your cart will appear showing its contents and summary of costs etc so far, click on continue shopping.
6 When you have finished adding lots of photos to your cart click on view shopping cart (top of page centre). Choose your payment method. Either Cheque/Internet Banking or Credit Card payment boxes are your choice. Paying by Cheque/Internet Banking The order page will come up with a table containing either a filled in set of fields (including email address, name etc) if you are already registered and logged in or blank if you are not. If you are registered and logged in, you are good to go , add any comments in the special request/notes box at the bottom of the details form (If you are paying by cheque or Internet Banking please indicate which in this box now!!). If the form is blank you need to manually enter your details now. If the details box is not completed to the level required to complete the order you will be prompted by an on screen message. Finally you will see a security code that you are asked to type in at the very bottom, type this in (this security code will not show on the credit card order payment option). If you can't see this clearly on your computer screen you can reset it to another code by clicking on refresh image or alternatively if you click on the speaker icon and you have a sound system on your computer and its switched on! you will be able to listen to the code then you can type it in..
7 Click on "Submit the Form", if you are paying by Internet banking or cheque at this point you will see a order summary and the order has been successfully actioned, please see the details below the summary with banking information for Internet banking and postal address to send a cheque, please write on the back of the cheque the order number as seen in your order summary.
8 We are almost there! If you are paying by credit card after you click on "Submit the Form"a new table will appear and you are requested to enter your credit card details. Note that for expiry date the format 05/11 for May/2011 is accepted. Click on "proceed with checkout" and you are "all done".
9 On completion of your order you will receive an order confirmation email.
10 SPECIAL NOTE after you have logged in, depending on your browser type and its version, if you do a lot of moving around the site using only your back and forward arrows on the browser itself rather than clicking on pages directly within the web site it is possible that the security system will unlog you thinking you may be a hacker.. For this reason just prior to placing your order its our recommendation that you check you are still logged in before actioning the order..(look at top right of web site for the word "logout" being visible ie you are currently "logged in"
Our web site is almost completely new in layout and features! The only content not changed are the photos and your account details where applicable. We have provided a friendlier user interface, a host of new features, including lightboxes, larger photo views, product viewing page, event calendar, slide show on entry and a new "work in progress" archive facility. This archive facility can be accessed by going to the Archives page, where there are detailed instructions about its use.
- Do I need an account to buy photos
It is not necessary to create an account to purchase photos from the site UNLESS you are paying by credit card. We prefer you do register and create an account, as it allows us to contact you more easily if there are any questions we need to ask regarding your order. Credit card transactions now require the details to validate the transaction. If you do not open an account/register you are not able to use the lightbox feature. If you do not open an account/register then you will need to re enter your details at each visit to purchase photos.
- Is your new web site still encrypted and secure for personal information
Yes we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which is the electronic commerce standard for securing information as it travels over the Internet. SSL technology is designed to encrypt your information, preventing an unauthorized party from viewing and downloading your information. We are PCI DSS compliant for credit card transactions at a local and server level.
- Whats the lightbox for and how do I use it
The lightbox is a handy folder or album if you like, for the temporary placement of photos of interest that you are looking at purchasing. You can add photos to it (add photos to your created lightbox by clicking the plus button in the centre of the three buttons immediately below the photo- mouse over it and it will display the words "add to lightbox) as you cruise the web site and on completion go to that central folder where they will all be together in one place! These photos are retained in that lightbox even after you have logged off. So you can make multiple visits to the site and keep adding or taking out photos. From there you can compose an order, see how to order in FAQ section for further information. You need to register in order to create and use a lightbox. Note that the lightbox will be automatically cleared of contents approx every 30 days. The lightbox is also used as part of the ordering system for multiple electronic image purchase via CD or email delivery. In this case an order is placed for the CD without any reference to the actual contents you simply add a comment in your order to the effect that you are sending your selection to be placed on the CD or emailed to you via your lightbox. The Lightbox is then emailed to sales@sportzfotoz.co.nz, where we can action it.
- Why has the postage system changed
We have streamlined the whole postage/freight options as they were becoming to difficult to manage with the newer postage system implemented by NZPO. We now use a combination of courier and NZPO, to determine the most efficient option based on your order contents.
- What are the payment options
Our preferred method of payment is internet banking, you will see the options at check out time. We also accept cheques (allow at least 5 working days for bank clearance) and if you want to order at a meeting we even accept cash. Lastly we accept Visa and Mastercard. NOTE as part of our security requirements for credit card detail protection, creation of an account is mandatory for Credit Card payments
- How do I order Archive photos
Simply take a note of the event name, event date and copy the email/IM code to the left of or below the photo, (depending on which display mode you are using), If you click on the EMAIL and IM Code it will highlight its code address then you use your mouse to copy the code, then open up our email page by clicking on the email link HERE to order any of the products shown on our main website sportzfotoz.co.nz. (this website) Once the email is opened place your cursor in the main message area of the email and paste the link onto the page. Now you can add an appropriate message along with the event name and date and send it to us for processing. We will come back to you by email with a confirmation of price. (Note on some computer browsers you may have to use the keyboard actions to copy and paste; for windows ctrl+C for copy, ctrl+V for paste)
- Why does the archive photos website PGKEN sometimes load slowly
The archive site will contain many thousands of photos going back 5 years or so as we build it up, adding events over the next few months. The disk storage requirements to offer this service is very large. We chose therefore to locate this site overseas and on an innovative web site known as photobucket! You can access it via the archives page for specific events or click HERE to go to the general site. This site is incredibly popular worldwide and the price for that popularity is that many people access it and therefore sometimes it is a little slow in running. We recommend accessing it during NZ daylight time when speed seems to be best.
- I see not all pages have a back to the previous page click option.
Correct, some pages require code changes to achieve what can also be achieved by using your browsers back arrow (often located top left of the browser bar). When its not critical we have left that as the simple way back.
- How do I load up to 24 photos for printing with my Sportz FotozBook
The 24 photos you choose have to be available on the sportzfotoz website, this website, or on the Archives web site, go to the Archives page on this web site to get there! Depending which one you are going to use, and often you may use both, then simply refer to two options already listed in the FAQ section aboe. If you are choosing photos from the current web site sportzfotoz.co.nz then see the article called Whats the lightbox for and how do I use it. If you are going to access the archive site then see the article above called How do I order archive photos. As always if you find neither of these are working for you. Then email your requirements to sales@sportzfotoz.co.nz and we can wotk through this with you.
